Sutton Council has a 20-year track record of success in environmental endeavours and is the first UK council to adopt a vision of One Planet Living. This has resulted in several innovative projects, and a Sustainability Action Plan for the borough. The Action Plan is a set of targets for everyone to help with and work towards. It integrates Local Area Agreement targets, monitoring mechanisms, the Local Development Framework and initiatives such as Smarter Travel Sutton.
