One sugar bruv
Residents in the Marsh Farm estate in Luton set-up a social enterprise that brings fairly traded tea to thir community at low prices. They work with the Adivasis tea growers in India in a genuine community-to-community trading arrangement that means they can sell the tea at prices similar to that of the mainstream brands.
A living wage for Oxford
Employees of Oxford City Council will all enjoy a living wage by April 2009, guaranteeing them and their families enough money to meet their basic living costs.
